Tooth-Colored Restorations

At Davis Family Dentistry, we’re committed to offering our patients the highest quality dental care available, and this includes the materials we use when we restore your teeth.

Our doctors understand that patients not only want a healthy smile, they also want a beautiful smile they can be proud of. This is why we’ve invested in materials and technology that allow us to offer you high quality, reliable, and appealing restorations.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

Composite resin is now the material of choice when it comes to dental fillings. This material is pliable and easy for our doctors to work with, and it can be customized to match your existing teeth.

Using composite to restore your tooth also requires less of your natural tooth structure to be removed, which protects the integrity of your tooth. Because it’s directly bonded to your tooth, it adds strength and longevity and protects against the breakdown often experienced with metal amalgam fillings.

Dental Bonding

Composite is also ideal for dental bonding, which can repair a number of cosmetic issues such as:

  • Small chips and fractures
  • Exposed root due to recession
  • Size and shape discrepancies
  • Gaps or spacing between teeth

Dental bonding is a cost-effective and quick way to improve your smile as it can typically be done during one appointment. It also has the potential to last for many years with excellent home care and regular dental cleanings and check-ups.

Dental Crowns

We use tooth-colored porcelain to fabricate dental crowns.

A crown is designed to replace your entire tooth, and our doctors will customize it to match the form and shade of your natural tooth. A crown is an ideal option to repair a tooth that’s been damaged beyond what a filling can repair. It can also be part of a cosmetic treatment plan.

Because we understand how hectic our patients' lives can be and we value their time, we’ve invested in advanced technology that allows us to deliver crowns much faster than ever before. CEREC stands for ceramic reconstruction, and it allows us to fabricate and deliver a crown during one appointment at our office.

3-D technology scans an impression of your tooth with excellent accuracy, and our dentists will customize and create your restoration right in our office so you’ll leave the same day with a finished and fully functioning tooth.

Frequently Asked Questions

Sometimes described as “silver-colored” fillings, dental amalgam has been used by dentists for more than 100 years because it lasts a long time. Because of their durability, these silver-colored fillings can sometimes be the best choice for large cavities or those that occur in the back teeth where a lot of force is needed to chew.

Composite resins, or tooth-colored fillings, provide good durability and resistance to fracture in small- to mid-size fillings that need to withstand moderate pressure from the constant stress of chewing. They can be used on either front or back teeth. They are a good choice for people who prefer that their fillings look more natural.
